I think that, if you are already sleeping with other women without your wife’s knowledge, asking for “an open marriage” is a bit dishonest.

In case it was unclear, I wouldn’t care if Gingrich had an open marriage. I care that he doesn’t seem to know what that actually means.

so.. yeah.  Newt’s an asshole.  We knew this.  But what is “interesting” (read: disgusting but needs to be aired) about this fucked up situation is not the “open marriage” request… it’s the way in which he tried to force his wife into accepting it.  Given his documented tendency towards verbal abusiveness, I’m betting that he thought he could get away with it.
